Michelle Brooks-Thompson is a National award
winning Independent Recording Artist and music performer from Springfield, Massachusetts.
She is known for her appearance as a Finalist on the hit TV show, NBC’s The Voice. Since competing on The Voice, Michelle’s versatile & phenomenal singing ability has privileged her to grace a multitude of diverse musical platforms across the country. She has become known by all as a dynamic powerhouse vocalist! As quoted by Maroon 5’s front man and NBC’s the Voice vocal coach Adam Levine, Michelle has been been
gifted with a “supernatural singing ability.” Michelle’s vocal tone and power is highly compared to the late musical icon, Whitney Houston. She has often been referred to the “Whitney Houston of Gospel music.”
Michelle’s music success throughout her career has continued to expand with notable accomplishments including being crowned as the 2017 Super Top Dog winner of world famous Amateur Night at the Apollo in New York and
winning $20k. Most recently in 2019 she was the winner of the 15th and final season of Keene Idol in New Hampshire and winning $10k!
Michelle has consistently performed at various churches, indoor and outdoor concert venues, sporting events, and on national TV programs
such as Dr. Bobby Jones Presents (Impact Network), TBN’s Praise the Lord, the Bishop Eric Lloyd Show (Rhema Network) and more. The vocal sensation, featured in People Magazine’s October 2018 Special Edition as a Voice finalist, has shared the stage with Grammy and Stellar Award winning Gospel and Secular artists such as Donnie McClurkin, James Fortune, Shana Wilson,
,Zacardi Cortez, American Idol’s Malinda Doolittle, NBC’s The Voice Noah Liz, and others.
It is her extraordinary voice and striking presence that has captivated audiences, making her rich vocals synonymous with delivering the National Anthem as well as God Bless America at countless major sporting events for the NBA, NFL, MLS, NHL, and MLB! On October 23, 2018, along side American singer, songwriter and guitarist James Taylor, Michelle became a part of baseball history when she performed God Bless America for Game 1 of the MLB World Series in Boston, MA.
In addition, she has performed the National Anthem with the Boston Symphony Orchestra at the most anticipated and legendary annual July 4th New England celebration, The Boston Pops (2015). It all began in January 2011 when Michelle auditioned for “Sing Your Way to Fenway,” hosted by the Boston Red Sox team. She beat 121 singers across the New England States and became the very first winner of the competition! Since then, she has consistently performed the National Anthem at prestigious & national sporting events. She has performed at Fenway Park, Gillette Stadium for the New England Patriots (2014 AFC Game), TD Gardens for the Boston Celtics and Boston Bruins, the Kansas City Chiefs (NFL), Tampa Bay Rays (MLB) and more. On September 29th, 2014 Michelle performed at the Boston Red Sox pre ceremony for New York Yankee’s legendary Shortstop, Derek Jeter. She performed Aretha Franklin’s “Respect “ and the National Anthem.
Michelle’s rendition of the National Anthem and God Bless America is highly respected and is continually requested by sports teams and many venues. Additionally, Michelle has been requested to sing other national anthems including La Borinquena(Puerto Rican) and O’ Canada (Canadian).
In addition to having won several local, regional and national musical talent competitions, Michelle is the co-author of the 2017 book entitled, “Pretty In His Presence.” She is also an actress and has appeared in several stage plays including the Gospel stage play, “When the Child Cries” and “For Colored Girls,” directed by International Playwright Lee Harris. She is the founder of the 501c3 organization Heart of the Earth, centered on helping at at risk youth discover individual musical and athletic talents to develop emotional stability.
