Arthur Z. Baton Jr. (Born January 13, 1992) Better known by his stage name A.R. Stylez, "Always Real Stylez" is an American Recording Hip-Hop Artist, Songwriter, Lyricist and aspiring Actor from Brooklyn, New York. The New Yorker is known to be a perfectionist, strong minded and passionate artist who delivers soulful yet relatable music. His first project, "Realism" released in 2012, which also features 2009’s XXL Freshman Hip-Hop Artist Mickey Factz. Some of his influences are Tupac Shakur, Kanye West, J.Cole, Common, Nas, Jay-Z, The Notourious B.I.G, Lupe Fiasco and more. A.R Stylez was born with the admiration for Art. "Art was my true love, giving me the ability to express myself. It’s like I could escape from reality into a world of my own”.
While growing up in a single parent household, his mother would often play music before his generation. Luther Vandross, Michael Jackson, Ben E King, The Temptations, Ray Charles, and Aretha Franklin, were all early examples of the soulful talent whom consumed his young ear. Around the age of 12, his interest for Art evolved into a passion for Music. This same passion is what brought him on stage for the very first time at the historic Knitting Factory located in New York City. A.R Stylez took the same path as Jay-Z, The Notorious B.I.G and Busta Rhymes by attending George Westinghouse High School located in Brooklyn, New York.
After graduating High School, and participating in a few semesters at New York City College of Technology, he decided to move forward with pursuing a career in the Music Industry. With tackling open mics & local events on a nightly basis, he began to develop a fanbase. The interaction and engagement of the people lead to multiple opportunities. In 2013, he performed in a fashion show, hosted by Puma & Sassy of VH1's “Black Ink”. That same year he also witnessed a life changing endeavor, being a hype man on stage with Styles P & Sheek Louch's entourage, "The Lox" during a live performance at NYC's BB Kings. He later went on to agree to a management deal with Avenue Music Group and it’s founder, Joshua Walker.
In both 2013-2014 & 2014-2015, he was one out of 500 artist who made it through auditions for "The Dean’s List College Tour", a College tour that introduces talents and is quickly expanding nation wide. Premiering in Episode 5, A.R. Stylez was also one of the very first Emcees to participate in G-unit's Comedian Jack Thriller's Hip-Hop Cypher 16orBetter, Co-Hosted by Junior Mafia's own Lil Cease. This premiered on sites such as ThisIs50 & VladTV. He went on to also make his first local Television appearance, being featured on "The Block Party TV" along side his Xtreme Freshman Tourmates. During Xtreme 104FM’s 3rd annual “All-Star Music Awards”, he was crowned 2014’s “Best Male Rapper of the Year”, also winning “Best Website of the Year”, in which both categories were voted by fans.
In 2015, he made his first International appearance, performing live for over 700 people in Denmark, Europe. With being an advocate for positivity in the community, he has appeared on local television stations such as, Brooklyn News, Fox 5, & NY1 Even as of current, he continues to learn and work on his craft. Sharpening his skills with methods such as participating in mentor Toni Blackman’s Freestyle Union Cyphers. He is currently working on his 2nd studio project in which he is set to continue to intrigue music lovers through his life story & creativity.
The Brooklynite is truly one of New York’s upcoming premier Artist. He truly plans to inspire & motivate the world through music & culture. Many have grown to admire his music & lifestyle, as the artist often reminds those to “Be True, Be You”. Follow him on his journey.
