Bryan Ferry in conversation with Liz Warner by Bryan Ferry published on 2019-01-08T18:56:47Z Roxy Music seemed to come out of nowhere. The bold self-titled debut album from 1972, a result of studio experimentation, seemed to defy categorization. Roxy’s extravagant fashion, curated with the help of art school friends, kept their audience ever curious about where they’d draw their cues from next. The record landed in the crates of record collections of an entire generation keen on eschewing flower power for punk-infused self-expression. Liz Warner sat down with Bryan Ferry of Roxy Music just after a live performance with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra in Los Angeles. This music-heavy feature takes a deep dive into early Roxy Music, and also into some of Ferry’s many influences leading up to that point through today. A new 45th Anniversary Super Deluxe Edition of Roxy Music commemorates the recording. The collection contains a book, CDs with demos, outtakes and BBC radio sessions, and a DVD of live performances from the time.
