Loma - Fatal Blue - XAMNT007 by X-AMNT published on 2021-08-19T19:06:38Z The latest release from Bunjy & Kickback’s record label X-AMNT is “Ento”, a four-track EP by Ipswich-born and Bristol-based producer Loma. A rising talent in Bristol’s drum & bass scene, Loma has been producing for five years, with releases on labels like Hardpoint and AFT Records under his belt. “Ento” traverses several vibes, from the atmospheric to the hardline with ease. Title track ‘Ento’ opens the EP as Loma sets a foreboding mood in the intro with atonal pads and crushing bass lines. When the track drops, those crushing basslines take centre stage alongside a bruising percussion line. Maximum screwface induced. ‘Fatal Blue’ is up next. Here, Loma lays down an amorphous lead line that hits the ear, breaks apart and reforms. A murky wobbler, ‘Fatal Blue’ is perfect for dark club nights and heavy sound systems, the sustained vibe only ceasing for the second build-up mid-way through the track. ‘March of the Machines’ starts with punishing clap patterns and a sci-fi sample before dropping into distorted bass and pounding percussion. Loma introduces an airy synth behind all the technical work, giving ‘March of the Machines’ both an exploratory and ethereal feeling as it unfurls from the speakers. Closing track ‘Phury’ amps up the sci-fi feelings of the previous track, as similar clap patterns appear in the intro. They hit the ear and reverberate, eventually dissipating into a sea of echo and reverb and giving way to distorted bass. Airy pads and an electric background melody garnish the track, ringing out in the spaces left between the bass and percussion. “Ento” will arrive exclusively to Beatport and Spotify 15th September and will be available on all digital platforms 29th September.
