The proposal will now head to the Senate, where a three-fifths majority is required to override Quinn’s veto. According to the bill's sponsor, state Representative Barbara Currie, the legislation would give municipalities a way to address FOIA requests that are considered to be "harassing”. But the Citizen Advocacy Center is urging state Senators to vote “no” on the override.
