CoCo Sambo(D Qaisa) (BK)CROWN HEIGHTS/PRIZGARLANDS 7$ Artist Highlight. CoCo is a Soca vocalist as well as a writer and manger, he also Sings & writes Reggae, soul and Gospel music. Born Ezekial Rian Eden Cummings-Maughn, born on U.S. soil in the mid 1970's. CoCo is a Brooklyn based artist, who's musical journey began in the Home, Church & in Primary School. From as far back as he remembers Sambo states his passion for music was special and unique. Before the age of 10, Sambo would sing in the youth Choir of the Orthadox church in which he grew up in and attended with his grandmother, the late great Queen Mother Eulie Cummings. He attended Nelson Street Boys R.C. school in P.O.S. where he also displayed his vocal talent. Not before long while attending Success Laventille Composite school in P.O.S. Shortly after Sambo was sent to the states, as drug violence and crime grew immensely in the neighborhood where he was from. Migration to America, introduced sound and sound clash life to CoCo. D.J Tallest his older brother was the first sound he voiced for, as a box bwoy, then onto selctor with Sounds like Governor General alongside his cousin Popeye. Governor General was the first sound CoCo Sambo did a dub plate for. CoCo if asked, he will admit that music was not a choice for a path in life but was a deep hidden passion that was suppressed by life struggles and failure to believe he was good enough....His journey of Life brings him face to face with music once again, to be embraced and reproached as healing and a need to do to Save his life and others. in his words, "Music chose me, no matter how hard and far you run from it, your true passion and purpose will always come full circle".
