Clockwork by Gary Jobsey published on 2021-04-04T15:56:36Z The last minute of Clockwork is the heart of the piece but that is best appreciated by listening to the first two minutes. The music is in three parts, each of about a minute. The music starts off with a ground bass in staccato before a baroque style theme is introduced on synthesiser. After a minute this stops and a second brief theme is introduced on acoustic guitar. This is then repeated as an overlay to the original baroque theme. At the point when this starts to get repetitive, a new modern theme on piano cuts in as a solo against the ground bass but is then joined by everything that went before. This is the heart of the music which is the part that I love where the acoustic guitar and piano compete in waves against the baroque background.
