$L33P$ 3DGe by Brady published on 2022-06-29T08:28:07Z $L33P$ 3DGe Third in a short anthology of soundscapes, ‘$L33P$ 3DGe’ contains sounds which seem rough but are actually carefully thrown together to craft rhythm and further levels of sound to unpack and explore, while still fitting with the first two tracks. BREAKDOWN: As usual, a lo-fi vinyl crackle introduces the song but this time it is backed with a fuzzier atmosphere first which gentle fades leaving the crackle to play through. The siren also returns, gliding through the soundscape ahead of the listener. Again, a similar panning effect is used but it begins at a faster rate than it does within the second track, and it slowly adjusts to meet the rest of the sound as it continues. The gentle trumpet mixed with a solemn, broken sounding piano, gently playing away in the background. The panning stops and a gentle filter is bought in and toyed with to dampen the sound. As the siren finishes, a knock is heard and the track transitions into a much cleaner and quieter segment. Only to be met with the full track after a few seconds. The same melody, accompanied by a second melody of the same sample yet sampled down an entire octave and filtered to create a fuller, deeper sound. The drums return, although they are being chaotically played through a distortion plugin which adds many different textures to the sound. This has been automated into a very random and disorganised path which creates a much more interesting sound with more to consider when listened too. A quiet ambience is introduced at this point as well which can only be heard as a quite shifting frequency constantly at the same rhythm. A percussive loop has also begun, adding some scratching, tearing and ruffling that sounds highly unique and creates an extra layer of rhythm beyond the drums. As the track quietens a period of time, the bass line can be heard, growling quietly under the rest of the sound. This is then covered by the melody and the drum line again as the track slowly but surely fades, leaving nothing but the end. Presenting... POTENTIALLY - a journey in an EP Genre Ambient
