The event is one part of a four series program titled Fiction in France Today. It is co-sponsored by La Maison Francaise of NYU and the Cultural Services of the French Embassy. Each of the four French-born authors had previously been awarded top literary prizes for their novels. Topics covered include how winning literary prizes changes an author, the return to a more traditional narrative being a trend in French literature, if political engagement of the author hinders their work, and how the contemporary feminist movement in France is expressing itself in literature.
