NigelParry Nigel Parry Wellington Acoustic musician singer/songwriter strong mellow voice, traditional and new music. Nigel Parry's unique mix of new, traditional and early folk music relies heavily on his strong, mellow vocal arrangements. Except when he's playing guitar in modal tunings. Or percussion, or something else. He has performed solo and in several bands (Black Velvet folk / rock duo, four piece close harmony folk band Parryphonalia, covers band Encore, traditional a capella duo Nipperkin Pipperkin, percussion for Awesome Gurdy Machine.....) and is putting together a new folk / rock project. Hailing from the UK, Nigel was originally a rock singer and turned to folk music through friends, historical events and real ale. In the last 4 years, Nigel Parry has performed in small and large folk events, bigger concerts and music venues around New Zealand, festivals and live on radio and in the UK, France and Canada. Latest high profile performance was in front of thousands at the People's Climate March from the steps of New Zealand's Parliament, performing new song When The Rain Comes. In 2013 Nigel Parry released a new studio album; Row Out to your ship of dreams.
