IT WON'T! Black people have a history of economic growth and a racist backlash like we're experiencing now. from Black Wall Street riots in Tulsa to redlining in the 90s, our economic growth has to be met with racial systematic changes. Look up the articles about the black belt by fivethirtyeight in contrast to these articles on the white-working class. black people were critical of hrc, but she understood that the system deals with implicit bias. bernie arrogantly dismissed this notion (like you). this was one of the reasons why HRC won all people of color and women in the primary. we will not take kindly to the concept of waiting our turn when we’ve been voting democrat at a +80 ratio for decades. of course, i would vote for him in a general. i NEVER said i would sit out or vote third party in a general (like you encouraged in blue states ahem MI). Just not in a primary where he need the Black vote over booker, harris or Landrieu 2017-07-17T03:43:15Z Comment by cypressmoss i live in the sixth. I agree with everything the writer said. 2017-07-17T00:43:44Z Comment by cypressmoss she more than likely wanted to see if he would give a straight answer or slip up 2017-07-17T00:36:42Z Comment by cypressmoss he's reaching with that assessment 2017-07-17T00:35:31Z Comment by cypressmoss you're acting like we knew Trump was going to win the nomination...and that bernie would win against trump. so, ask herself that question? why would you encourage people to vote third party when you know what we were against? would you encourage people to vote for the person you agree with the most as a surety even if they didn't live in a swing state???? 2017-07-17T00:05:21Z Comment by cypressmoss matt, how will economics change police culture? i would love to hear your answer... 2017-07-16T23:48:27Z Comment by cypressmoss how will economics solve this???? how will it solve philando castille???? 2017-07-16T23:47:30Z Comment by cypressmoss Black people want people to stop pretending like Trump ran on "economic anxiety." He ran on the platform of RACISM starting with birtherism. why would think white women with incomes +70k voted for him? why you think people hated Obamacare but loves the ACA? Black people been dealing with more than economic anxiety. we been dealing with that structural racism. LOOK AT FLINT! LOOK AT THE WEALTH INCOME GAP! This is where Black people get frustrated with liberals. 2017-07-16T23:46:01Z Comment by cypressmoss culture don't change unless we change it. it's just not gonna naturally occur. history has proven that with all the people that died for it. i dont think Warren would win the Black vote either because she follows the same thought process. look how they went on their "white-working class/i told you so" tour after the election. 2017-07-16T23:40:30Z Comment by cypressmoss it's not a moral stand! if a woman has a better platform, why would i choose a medicore white man just to appeal to racist. 2017-07-16T23:19:41Z Comment by cypressmoss white staright men saying we're done with that. sure.... 2017-07-16T23:15:31Z Comment by cypressmoss thank you matt! assange is being a narcissistic anarchist as per usual 2017-07-16T23:05:36Z Comment by cypressmoss julian assange contacting donald trump jr. wow! i'm so shocked... 😴😴😴 2017-07-16T23:03:51Z Comment by Lessly Cepeda i 1000% get what the commenter is saying, but there has to be a point where compromise is necessary. i think what bernie said at the time was that people of color care about economic issues just as much as they care about social things. they're being just as impacted by a struggling economy as white pople are. it's not about appeasing bigots (they will exist on both sides no matter what) but about energizing people to actually CARE about causes. truth is, the average white person, racist or not, doesn't really care all that much about BLM, or marriage equality, or trans rights. they're not against it, but it's not what they're voting on. liberals need to show off real, economic ideas that those people will vote on, and once in office they work for them AND the causes that they stand for. it's so simple a solution, but so frustrating to see people not understand. we can either support candidates that are electable or sit complaining to people who don't give a shit about us forever. :/ 2017-07-15T21:56:12Z Comment by Lessly Cepeda yes hello person of color here. but i'm also not an idiot. 2017-07-15T21:44:51Z Comment by Lessly Cepeda jeesus 2017-07-15T21:44:19Z Comment by Lessly Cepeda prime banter 2017-07-15T21:25:41Z
