L.i.t.A Guangzhou L.i.t.A, as an abbreviation for “Lovers in the Air”, are a primarily instrumental rock sextet from China consisting of guitarists Xinchi Ma, Collin Li, and Sam Shen, drummer Kunteng Ip, keyboardist Peiyi Wu, and bassist Dickey Cheung. They formed in summer of 2015 and began performing live in July of 2016. L.i.t.A released several singles over the course of 3 years, and made their full-length debut in 2019 with “A Terrible Beauty is Born”. The album title was inspired by “Easter, 1916”, a poem by W. B. Yeats, which resembles the protean varieties incorporated by the album, including melodic and free-flowing style similar to bands like Toe, as well as cinematic and crescendo-heavy sound reminiscent of bands such as Maybeshewill, and even a dark hybrid of doom metal and shoegaze. It also features occasional electronic elements and vocal presence. Due to that 2/6 of L.i.t.A resides in the United States, the group primarily focuses on composing and recording, and now only perform in the summer.
