Kash is part of the 'Beat Mercenaries' team of Producers and Songwriters based in Birmingham UK. Kash Rex has written over 20 songs in the space of 6 months for The Beat Mercenaries, including the anthemic “Eruption” “Beautiful Dream” “So They Say” "And we'll Fly~ "Avert A Disaster" "That's The Law" and many more. Kash Rex – born in Birmingham, England, is one of Birmingham’s iconic figures in the UK Music Industry. Kash released the first Hip Hop record to come out of Birmingham UK called ‘Rok da Bass’ on Big One Records, for whom he recorded several singles throughout the late '80s and early '90s. Kash then teamed up with Super Producer and Musician Linslee Campbell to become one of the biggest remix teams of the 1990's. Remixing records by major stars like Aaliyah, The Spice Girls, Guy, Babyface, Soul For Real, 3T and Ben VP. Kash also worked on "Dil Cheese - Rap Remix' by Asian star Bally Sagoo. It became a top 10 UK Pop Hit. Another successful partnership happened with Producer Jamie Winchester when Kash Rex released 'Yang Yang' 'What you wanna do' and it shot straight to top 5 in the UK HipHop charts. It was whilst working with Winchester Kash came up with the title 'Birmingham Mob', originally the name of a track they were working on, Kash also used the title to name his crew of close friends. Kash has also been said to have great ears for finding talented singers. He was the first to discover and work with soul star Beverley Knight, the superstar herself Jamelia, and multi-talented singer/producer EmCee AKA Miss Cherokee. Indeed Kash has been writing songs for singers since 1987 when he wrote and produced "Sexy Eyes" for singer Jenny B. As a deejay Kash Rex dominated the Birmingham and UK Hip Hop Scene throughout the late 80′s and 90′s and joined forces with DJ Paris Walker and other deejays to form the deejay crew the Birmingham Mob as a professional unit. The popularity of this crew inspired International Music Promoters to book USA/UK RnB & Hip Hop Artist to perform live at Birmingham Mob concerts in front of thousands of fans. Artists include: RedMan, Wu-Tang Clan, Buster Rhymes, Keith Murray, Mobb Deep, Brand Nubian etc and countless others.
