Baby Wayne was born in Maxfield Avenue, Kingston 13, to a family of various musical talents including the great Norris Weir from the Jamaicans. His musical interest and skills became easily apparent to everyone. He was plummeted into the music scene in 1983 where his real musical education began when he started playing with Disco Injection, an uptown sound located in Red Hills, and Mannings Hill Road region of Kingston. In 1985, while playing at Fountain Night Club in Regal Plaza, Wayne was approached by Ruddy and Cross of Coreville Garden, the co-owners of Squad 51. He eventually joined the Squad 51 family and became their youngest selector. He was so young, they nicknamed him Baby Wayne. Prior to joining Squad 51 however, the young DJ's reputation was already well established as being innovative and energetic, he created a vibe wherever he played. This new venture with Squad 51 gave Wayne the opportunity to expand his musical style to include hardcore Dance hall to his resume. For three years Baby Wayne continued his musical education, developing his skills in creative sound clashing which takes intelligence, wit, and ingenuity. His clashes with Squad 51 include many top sounds including Silver Hawk, Inner City, and Heatwave etc. By expanding his musical association, Wayne was able to create links with numerous sounds and selectors including the Immortal Stone Love. In 1988, Baby Wayne migrated to New York . However, his love of music was so ingrained that he quickly started working at Park Heights Record store, a leading Mecca of Reggae Music in New York. While working at Park Heights, he expanded his knowledge and love of music to now include the New York music scene. It became quickly apparent to Wayne that New Yorkers love music and that his talent would be greatly welcome. Wayne teamed up with a new crew in Brooklyn, Crown Heights in 1989 and Techniques Disco was born.The group quickly became well known for their innovative musical selective style. Techniques Disco was feared and respected by many selectors for their skills. The sound developed a reputation for juggling. They, however, did not back away from a clash. They played internationally to include Canada, St. Croix and Bermuda and in many of the fifty states such as Boston, Washington, Maryland, Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida, to name just a few. In 1995 Baby Wayne came to a realization that his career path needed revitalization and with this decision, Baby Wayne Movements became a reality. Members of the Baby Wayne Movements World Touring Sound system past and present have included many exceptional Disc Jockey such as Mark, Quest, Cardist, Richie Pooh, DJ Troy, Dr. Steele, Bigga Ford. Flava and Red Face. Baby Wayne Movements Sound system can now be enjoyed in Jamaica with selectors like DJ Coolie. Charlie. Bigga 5 and DJ Hall. Fyah Wayne as Baby Wayne is sometimes affectionately referred to have trained many selectors with his methodology and unique playing style. Upon joining the Baby Wayne Movements family, selectors enter an institution of higher learning. Baby Wayne believes that selectors must never shy away from learning. Learning is a necessity for keeping up with new trends, staying current within the music scene regardless of genre and in order to make the past vibrant, fresh and at the same time reminiscent. With a determination to remain innovative and creative, Baby Wayne's interest has expanded to other aspect of music, including promotion and production. His reputation as a vibrant and innovative selector is well established.It is no surprise that he is highly imitated by others. Wayne skills as a selector is well known. This have led to a number of year to year event with well-reputed promoters.
