Baiji Dolphin by Felix Rösch published on 2020-06-30T20:02:55Z This is an exclusive preview of Felix Rösch's new EP ‘Mya’, out October 9 on SilentGreen Records. It follows 2018’s ‘Orchester Verfremdung’ and 2019’s ‘str:orchestra,’ which was featured in Spotify’s ‘Not Quite Classical’ playlist and used in a global Burberry ad campaign. ‘Mya’ combines shape-shifting analog synthesizers, ethereal piano textures, and a remote-recorded chamber orchestra. It is meant to be a memorial for countless species that have gone extinct. “I felt completely overwhelmed when I learned about the biological annihilation of wildlife in recent decades and how we’re collectively decimating the only assemblage of life that we know of in the universe. That feeling started this EP. But instead of focussing on that, I wanted to celebrate these extinct animals by creating this little memorial, where each track is dedicated to one of them.” — Felix Rösch The lead single ‘Baiji Dolphin’ was remote-recorded with string players from all over Europe during the COVID-19 lockdown. It was written and produced in thirteen YouTube live streams, all of which you can watch here: https://youtu.be/mVgfARczCD8?t=7775 EPK HERE: https://shwca.se/mya_ep Follow Felix Rösch's journey: Spotify: https://spoti.fi/2KoBEOS Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/felixrosch/ Website: https://www.felix-roesch.com/ Genre Ambient
