Calvary Chapel Oak City Calvary Chapel Oak City Media Raleigh, NC Responding To The Call Of Christ Our Mission = Responding In Obedience To The Call Of Christ “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:13-16 At Calvary Chapel Oak City we are purposing to affect change in the city of Southeast Raleigh that God has placed us in. We see in scripture that Jesus calls us to follow Him. It's up to us to respond positively to that call and follow Jesus. We want to do that in our city. How do we respond to that call at CCOC? By loving people the way that Jesus loved them. “For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:6-8 Our calling is to be different from this world, challenging the lies and falsehoods it tries to impose on us living in it. To follow the example Jesus led for us. We want the community of CCOC to see and respond to that call in obedience as well. We teach expositionally (verse by verse) through the entire bible so those attending can be equipped with the whole truth found in God’s word. We do this so through the Holy Spirit, we can be prepared for the challenges this life and the enemy puts in our way. Our priority is to see souls saved through Jesus Christ. For an eternal spiritual change to take place. We pray that those redeemed would be sanctified through the Holy Spirit so they can live righteously in their homes and workplaces. Setting an example of the freedom they have found in Christ, glorifying God in action and truth. This change is how we at CCOC plan to respond to the call God has put on us in the need to revive a hurting and broken community.
