Reflektem first stepped on the underground music scene in Puerto Rico as a rapper during the 1990s when Hip Hop and Reggaeton was just beginning to take form in that region. But his love for Hip Hop, and a lack of original music (beats) led him to pursue music production and its intricacies. Soon afterwards he moved to Orlando, Florida to continue on his pursuit by attending Full Sail University. His passion for rapping quickly took a back seat to the crafting of beats and the inner workings of the recording studio
Born Daniel Alejandro Maestre-Torres, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, music producer and engineer, Reflektem was exposed to a collage of music genres that formed his production style; his native Hispanic musical roots, his early years as a child in Los Angeles, his teenage years in Puerto Rico, and his early adult life in various parts of the world.
After being in the studio along such artists as Vico C, the vein pursuit of fame finally led him to a pivotal point in his life; the old had gone, the new had come, he was now a child of God, a new creation in Christ Jesus. His new found faith in Jesus Christ introduced him to Christian producers and artists with which he collaborated with, producing for such artists as Baby Tone, Juni, and also being featured along side artists such as Manny Montes, DJ Sace and Bengie on MC Charles and PBCs album Holy Crew.
Previously known as Myestro he is now known as Reflektem as he now seeks to Reflect Him (Jesus Christ) in all that he does.
