Interview relating to voiceover in november 2015 by Clarke W published on 2015-11-05T00:03:47Z this is the public interview that was broadcast november 3 '15. voices.com Genre voiceover Comment by BannerSound I realize this is a number of years old now however I am just seeing it for the first time; I simply cannot help but wonder why so many of you (maybe not you folks posting here on this thread, but the collective "you") complain extensively about these types of P2P sites yet they are still in business because "you" are all supporting them. I've not had any issues with this guy that I recall but I have had it out with the guy ("Steven? Is he still there?) at V123 a few times. 2022-11-15T02:10:30Z Comment by Man With The Deep, Bass Voice "We do not represent the talent." That's like when Uber says: "We are not a transportation company." 2019-08-12T15:26:02Z Comment by Man With The Deep, Bass Voice Crooks. Plain and simple. As a Canadian, I'm actually embarraced because Voice.com is a Canadian company 2019-08-12T15:09:36Z Comment by Mark Wangerin - Composer WHEN did voice buyers EVER asked to for a barrier between them and the voice talent? 2018-12-13T15:43:14Z Comment by Mark Wangerin - Composer WOW! and Folks!... We VO talent as a group give him this power when we sign up for legalized larceny like this. 2018-12-13T15:34:10Z Comment by Eileen Anglin Wow. 2018-02-10T20:09:41Z Comment by Musikality Yikes 2016-11-17T21:17:00Z Comment by steeleimaging NOT a waste of time. 2016-08-29T20:50:36Z Comment by Rob Marley voiceover "We're lazer-light focused on this industry" (and figuring out ways to bleed the talent dry) 2015-11-16T14:44:17Z Comment by Steve Marvel Whoa. He admits an $1800 job goes for $750 on Voices.com because his "surveys" indicate that's what talent will accept. One has to admire the audacity. That is, till the lynch mob shows up. 2015-11-12T21:16:54Z Comment by Nic Redman Voice If a talents audition isn't good enough quality to be submitted to the client, perhaps they aren't professionally equipped enough to be listed on the site. 2015-11-12T11:09:41Z Comment by Nic Redman Voice Very interesting listening. Especially to learn that your audition might not even be submitted to the client. 2015-11-12T11:06:44Z Comment by Nic Redman Voice Is upsetting to hear him pass the buck of responsibility on to his staff. Size of business is not an excuse for mistakes and lack of consistency. He should be able to take responsibility for the actions of his own company. 2015-11-12T10:56:46Z Comment by Alyson Steel How does he not realize how unethical he is? I won't ever recommend any of my students use Voices. 2015-11-09T22:04:19Z Comment by Rob.Marley.Austin "California and NY state law define you as a casting agent" 2015-11-07T12:33:28Z Comment by Liisa Lee VO Thank you for posting. It's amazing how inept Dave sounds and how clearly he's obfuscating or outright lying. He's the most transparent verbal tap dancer I've heard outside the GOP. Disappointing that this is the flag he chooses to fly. Onward to better, ethical companies. 2015-11-06T22:24:16Z Comment by Scott Lambright My agent sent me an audition for $1500, I saw it on voices for $250. 2015-11-06T15:42:41Z Comment by Scott Lambright Haha your website is terrible for actual voice talents! 2015-11-06T15:42:13Z Comment by Scott Lambright What a joke! 2015-11-06T15:41:36Z Comment by BillVO He's tap dancing. 2015-11-06T14:54:52Z Comment by BillVO The TALENT is also a Voices.com CLIENT, since they also pay a fee to Voices. 2015-11-06T14:35:28Z Comment by Paul R Martin Thanks for going deeper with the questions 2015-11-06T13:42:34Z Comment by Chris Thom OMG, what a effing prick 2015-11-06T05:15:24Z Comment by Angie Marie Scandale Thank-you for posting this. As a Canadian, I am embarrassed of the practices of this Canadian company. Voice talent are far more powerful than they may feel, and when brought together in full support of other voice talent, can change the entire foundation of this industry to the point where these P2P companies would then bend over backwards to fully accommodate every voice talent. Time to take back our power voice talent. :) 2015-11-06T01:24:26Z
