Jumping the shark is too generous a phrase for y’all. 2021-03-02T12:57:20Z Comment by Alexander Fuchs uhhh tfw Adam Curtis calls mr chapo a lib 2021-03-02T10:48:07Z Comment by Chris Riley The idea that the Capitol insurrectionists were at least "protecting their position" and should be given some respect is a nonsense overbaked take 2021-03-02T10:39:44Z Comment by User 802773547 Ok Adam Curtis super fan here- dude’s a ledg. That being said though I feel on a couple of things, he’s preaching to the converted here. Like, Chapo and a significant part of the Bernie-left have been shitting on Russiagate from day one. What I’d really like him to comment on is why exactly he thinks that Sanders and Corbyn failed. His perspective on that is what I’d be interested in- I don’t know why he’s ignored them in this wave of interviews. 2021-03-02T10:11:06Z Comment by rk The only reason to watch an Adam Curtis doc is for those moments where a pop song perfectly syncs with old historical footage. Curtis' critique of modern politicians and scientists obsession with data to the exclusion of everything else is ironic considering that his docs essentially follow the same model. His docs are essentially collages of images and sounds bereft of any central ideology or vision. I loved Hypernormalisation and enjoyed this latest effort btw. 2021-03-02T08:33:53Z Comment by terminal horizons I want to know how Chinese "individualism" is failing "millions of people" - they are eradicating poverty, strengthening the welfare state and all you have to do is look at how they handled Covid compared to the West and this kind of reductive analysis crumbles. Adam Curtis seems like a wishy washy pseudo intellectual tbh. 2021-03-02T05:21:15Z Comment by ghysling "The reason I took Limonov seriously to begin with, is because I'm a nonce" -Adam Curtis 2021-03-02T04:55:50Z Comment by take5™ ok maybe he does fucking kno it then! maybe he just cant say it cuz the corrupted tory bbc will kick him out asap :/ 2021-03-02T04:36:36Z Comment by take5™ ... that's socialism, adam. it's always been socialism. why must he always shy away from actually just admitting it? i like him mostly but that subconsious cold war bs gotta be dropped 4 real 2021-03-02T04:33:47Z Comment by Elle Simone Soyyy 2021-03-02T04:29:06Z Comment by Elle Simone Soyyy 2021-03-02T04:27:16Z Comment by Elle Simone We need a Chait reading soon lol 2021-03-02T04:26:11Z
