Thanks for all of the recent follows, comments, likes and reposts. I am doing my best to check out your music also, comment, like, follow and repost in many cases. I like artists being creative in any way they can, so forgive my wide range of reposts.
I grew up on 60's and 70's Rock, Pop, Classic Rock, Psychedelic and Fusion Music. A number of Rock and original Rock bands followed. I also played regular gigs as part of a duo with a flute player (one of my best for life friends, Ed). Of course, we did a bunch of Tull songs as well as Classic Rock and originals with the duo and in our bands.
Before and during my college Music Education, I had taken up Classical Guitar. That was during the day. At night I was playing in a Disco Band. In later years, I reunited with Ed, and formed a Tull tribute band. A number of years later, I was playing Pedal Steel Guitar and guitar in an all original band (Thunderegg) that had a number of nice gigs in Connecticut and New York City.
Over the past 10-15 years, I've been focusing on writing and recording original music. Due to my background, I am spread over quite a few genres and many times that is driven by a collaborator. I have been collaborating with a lot of great people. I'm one of 3 Bobs who formed an internet band called 3bobrock. We tend to pull from a Pink Floyd sound and other sources for our original music. My most recent regular collaborations are with Jennifer Foss, a wonderful singer of many styles who also has a lot of great ideas as a cowriter. Several of our recent songs are favorites on our Soundcloud pages. Jen and I continue to work together and are looking forward to writing and recording much more together. We go by the band name Blue Scorpion.
I've also done a good deal of co-writing and recording with Michelle Davis Leverette over the last several years. We are hitting the Blues Rock genre quite a bit. Michelle is another great vocalist and writer who is great to work with. We go by the band name Quarter Turn.
I have a number of tracks with Briand Melonson (Bamtone). Yes, another great writer and vocalist. We tend to aim at Alternative Rock and some Americana.
Other artists I've enjoyed co-writing and recording with the last several years are Amanda West, Ethan Freckleton, Marcus Mittila, Steven Guiles, Bill Perry, Louise Goldberg, Michelle Murray, Halley Ewell, JenaVieve Reed, Mladen Domic and Belinda Coomes. I apologize because I'm sure I've forgotten to mention a few others
I am also always working on creating music for possible film, tv and advertising use. Therefore, among the tracks you find on my pages will be some shorter instrumental cues. My "New Tracks" Album page is where I put new favorites.
Some of my tracks are available for purchase and download. You are always welcome to stream and listen for free here.
Finally, my website, bobporrimusic.com., may be of interest to you. I'm a full time musician, songwriter, and guitar instructor. There is a good deal of free material (video guitar instruction, scales, chords, jam tracks etc.) on my website. I appreciate any interest, comments, emails etc. I am also am a Guitar Coach for the Guitar Tricks website with a number of online "classes" each week.
