Starships Live 10-04-19 Comet Ping Pong Show by Black Folks Don't Swim? published on 2020-10-11T23:08:07Z Starships is a grungy funked out tune for all the Space bitches out there. On this day in history, BFDS? appeared in 4 pieces for an electric audience at DC's own Comet Ping Pong (Ping Pong, Beer, Pizza...yes the one from the now infamous Pizzagate). Their set was supporting the Osyx (another killer DC band) at their album release show. Starships features a driving bass line, a deep pocket, delayed fuzzed out guitar, and a punching vocal presence evoking imageries of space and constellations. The chorus bathes audiences in holy aria-like refrain of "All was sublime" that works as a talisman of positive manifestation and protection that becomes manifest in the chant "THE FREQUENCIES WERE ALIGNED" which leads the band into free thrashing exploration. Playing Personnel: Nithin Venkatraman AKA No Shoes Jones on Guitar, DeZ aka _Qisum on the Drums, Kailasa A. on Vox and Sweets on tha Bass (and supporting Vox) Genre Future Funk
