Thunderstorm from Pine Forest POV (3:17pm) - LS10 w/SASS by Jared Blake published on 2021-04-24T21:54:46Z Full Story + Video: https://acousticnature.com/journal/recording-nature-sounds-in-the-okefenokee-swamp This field recording is of a powerful thunderstorm slowly approaching a small pine forest on the edge of the Okefenokee Swamp. To deaden the sound of raindrops on the SASS microphone, I put spanish moss on top of the enclosure. This worked really well! Genre field recording Comment by Yuri Klein If there are hot days in the summer in Spain, I would say that thunderstorm through big speakers to the whole street :) 2023-04-02T17:00:05Z Comment by ΩMAIRA superb capure, and well done on the improviso deadcat extenction 2021-12-28T14:48:34Z Comment by Douglas Langley I have a DIY cover based on the Cinela Kelly rain cover. A stretchy fabric cover coated with Nikwax goes over the windshield to provide water protection, then an open cell foam cover over the top to break up the raindrops. 2021-04-26T21:08:22Z Comment by Douglas Langley Beautiful recording and great technique. Not hearing any nasty thunks there at all. I can hear the contact with the moss I think, but it sounds lovely and natural. 2021-04-26T14:30:10Z Comment by World-Sounds.org Great recording. Love the moss technique to reduce raindrop sounds! 2021-04-25T20:12:09Z
