Ecati Under the alias Ecati, Antonis Hadjiantonis, explores the culture of electronic music. Ecatis's music is better described as ethnic electronica. Developing a distinctive intricacy and depth in her production, her signature is a crossover between the rebetiko genre (Greek urban music from the beginning of the 20th century), minimalist electro beats, techniques reminiscent of “musique concrete” and soundscape composition. Situating herself ,as a composer, both in impressionism and expressionism, Ecati intends to submerge the listener in distinct ambiences, offering on one hand freedom of imagination while at the same time intentionally defining the musical narrative. When it comes to songwriting her lyrics, in Greek, are mostly revolving around the themes of lust and desire written in an ordinary language, conveying the feeling of some sort of poetic audio journal. Ecati experiments with the acoustical warmth of guitars, analog synthesizers and tape machines creating modulated loops and samples, soundscaping fantasies.
